What is Structured Cabling?

Structured cabling is the standardized physical infrastructure of corporate networks — cables, connectors, racks, outlets — designed and installed per international standards (EIA/TIA 568) and Brazilian standards (ABNT NBR 14565).

For multinational enterprises operating in Brazil, structured cabling projects in Brazilian facilities require Brazilian engineering registration (CREA) and ART (Anotação de Responsabilidade Técnica) — legal documents that only locally-licensed engineers can produce. Without ART, the project lacks legal validity and may void insurance.

Pilar TI provides end-to-end structured cabling: from initial site survey, through engineering design with ART, to installation by certified technicians, to final Fluke certification of every link. Backed by 15-year warranty on labor, with extension to 25-year warranty available through manufacturer partners (Furukawa, CommScope, Panduit).

How we deliver Structured Cabling

The 6 components included in our service, with clear scope and SLA per component.

01

Site survey

On-site assessment: existing infrastructure, building constraints, density, growth needs. Detailed report with photos and recommendations.

02

Engineering design

Detailed design with topology diagrams, BoM (bill of materials), routing plans, rack layouts. ART filed with CREA.

03

Installation by certified technicians

Furukawa-certified or CommScope-certified installers. Cable management, labeling, dressing per industry best practices.

04

Fluke certification

Every link tested and certified with Fluke DSX-8000 or equivalent. Reports include attenuation, NEXT, FEXT, length, delay.

05

Documentation deliverables

As-built drawings (CAD), Fluke test reports (PDF and CSV), labeled rack diagrams, BoM with serial numbers, warranty documentation.

06

Long-term warranty

15 years on Pilar TI workmanship. 25-year manufacturer warranty available through partner programs (Furukawa Solution Plus, CommScope SYSTIMAX).

Differentiators

What makes Pilar TI different from typical Brazilian IT vendors.

CREA-registered engineering

ART legally required in Brazil. We provide it. International firms often miss this and face audit issues.

Multiple manufacturer certifications

Furukawa Solution Plus, CommScope SYSTIMAX, Panduit Vendor Programs. Choose manufacturer based on your global standard.

English-language documentation

All deliverables (designs, reports, certifications) translated to English on request. Useful for global asset management systems.

Field service across Brazil

Operations in São Paulo, Rio, Belo Horizonte, Curitiba, Brasília. Other Brazilian cities served via field deployment with travel costs.

Do I really need ART for cabling projects in Brazil?
Yes — for any commercial structured cabling project, ART (Anotação de Responsabilidade Técnica) is legally mandatory in Brazil per CREA regulations. International firms operating in Brazil have been audited and fined for projects without ART. Pilar TI files ART for every project at no extra cost.
What standards do you follow?
International: ANSI/TIA-568 (current revision), ANSI/TIA-942 (data centers), ANSI/TIA-606-C (administration). Brazilian: ABNT NBR 14565 (cabling), ABNT NBR 16415 (data centers). Our installs satisfy both — important for enterprises with global cabling standards.
Can you handle data center cabling?
Yes. We design and install data center cabling per ANSI/TIA-942: hot aisle/cold aisle, structured cabling between zones, fiber backbone, KVM and console networks, IP-based DCIM integration. We've built cabling for data centers from 50 to 5,000 sqft in Brazil.
What's typical pricing?
Cat 6 cabling: USD 80-130 per certified link (cable + outlet + jack + termination + Fluke test) for projects above 100 outlets. Cat 6A: USD 130-220 per link. Fiber backbone: USD 25-45 per termination. Project management and engineering design separate. Discounts for larger volumes.
How long do projects take?
Office of 100-300 outlets: 2-4 weeks total (engineering 1 week, installation 1-2 weeks, certification 2-3 days). Data center of 1,000+ outlets: 6-10 weeks. We can compress timelines with multiple crews for urgent projects.
